Buzz’s comments on his cruise from
Manaus, Brazil to Monte Carlo on the Seabourn Quest March – April 2018
My mother had some great
trips on Seabourn and I discovered an unusual itinerary with a great price so I
decided to try it. Starting at the top of
the Amazon River then across the Atlantic and then the half way across the
Med. Since I had been to none of the
ports of call before except Monte Carlo, it was an adventure. The Amazon ports were colorful but not
particular exciting after Manaus. Cape
Verde was interesting because of its history and current evolution. The Canary Islands are a popular vacation
spot for Europeans and they were enjoyable, scenic with an interesting history. In Tangiers, the Casbah was just like it is pictured in the movies.
I really liked the
community atmosphere on the ship. The
hosted tables offered a great opportunity to meet other guests, lecturers and
staff. By the end of the trip, most
guests and staff knew me. Food onboard
was very good; a little fewer alternatives than on Crystal but it is a smaller
ship. I especially like the steak
tartar at the Thomas Keller specialty restaurant.
