Copenhagen to London on the Seabourn Ovation August 2026
Another
great cruise on Seabourn. This was a
free cruise! The ship was almost completely
full with more than 600 passengers and only 13 solo travelers.

JUL AA 736 PHL-LHR 7:35 PM to 30 JUL 7:50 AM Pleasant flight on a 787-800 – on
time. Business class lay flat seat.

JUL BA 7099 LHR-CPH 1:10 – 4:10 PM Pleasant flight on a Airbus 320 – less than
2 hours in the air. Business class
leaves the middle seat empty. No
on-board entertainment. Nice hot meal

JUL – 1 AUG Copenhagen Marriott Hotel – Very nice room with a refrigerator,
safe, wide screen TV and a view of the canal.
I had access to the executive lounge due to my elite status.
FRI 31
JUL – Hop on Hop off bus - Red line – stopped in front of the hotel. I got off at Christiansborg Palace, the Little Mermaid, Rosenborg
Castle and at Christianshave Square (to eat lunch
at Nordic Smash Burger).

01AUG26 Sail from Copenhagen, Denmark. I
went to the Welcome Aboard presentation, the solo travelers get together, the
show Detroit Sounds performed by the Seabourn Six. I had dinner at a table hosted by Courtnie Fenn, Entertainment Manager.

02AUG26 Skagen, Denmark. Since I had been to this port before, I wondered
around town. I went to the conversation
“What Does an Ambassador Do” given by Sir Alan Collins.
I played team Trivia. I had dinner at a
table hosted by Simon Egerton, Cruise Director. I attended the Captain’s
Welcome Introductions. I went to Showstoppers performed by Jennifer Tierney.

03AUG26 Gothenburg, Sweden I booked a 6.5 hour excursion: Northern Islands
& Gothenburg City – We started with a bus and ferry ride to the Northern
Islands. The Ockero
municipality is spread over 10 islands and is connected to the mainland by
a 25-minute ferry ride. Ockero is home to
many fishing boats and boathouses. This genuine archipelago environment got us
close to arctic flora, ancient relics and stunning views. We saw the old Ockero
Church, dating back to the Middle Ages. At the local folklore center, a snack,
including coffee and a pastry, is served before we headed to Hono and Foto Islands.
Once on Hono Island, the guide provided a
short introduction through the typical old village, where the fishing huts
are nestled among the imposing granite landscape of the archipelago. We returned to Gothenburg by ferry afterwards. A guided walking tour introduced us
to Gothenburg. In the heart of the city you will pass Götaplatsen,
with its famous Poseidon Fountain by Carl Milles. The Museum of Fine Arts, the
Concert Hall and the Municipal Theatre are also located at Götaplatsen. We saw the Opera House, and the Maritime
Center, as well as the Lisberg Amusement Park. We had an hour and a half of free
time in the city. I went to the
Abba and Caviar Sailaway. I went to the show Silverscreen
performed by the Seabourn six. I had
dinner at Earth and Ocean.

04AUG26 Oslo, Norway. Since I had been
to this port before, I wondered around town I played team Trivia. I attended “musicals, Marilow
and Me” performed by Simon Egerton, Cruise Director. I had dinner at a table hosted by Courtnie Fenn, Entertainment Manager.

05AUG26 Mandal (Kristiansand), Norway.
I have been to this port twice before so I did not book an
excursion. It was raining so I stayed on
the ship. I played social bridge. I had
dinner at a table hosted by Brett Vance, one of the Seabourn Six. I went to the show performed by the Shamrock Tenors.

06AUG26 Sea Day. I played team Trivia. I
went to a Q and A with Dame
Elaine Paige. I went to the
conversation “Winston Churchill” given by Sir Alan Collins.
I went to the show Earth Song performed by the Seabourn six. I had dinner with Dustin Kerr, a past
Seabourn Six cast member, at the Sushi Restaurant for their special tasting
menu so formal nights.

07AUG26 Antwerp, Belgium I booked an 8 hour excursion - The Best of Bruges -
Bruges in French, or Brugge in Flemish, is an exquisitely preserved
medieval town. It had the good fortune to be linked to the sea by a navigable
waterway, and the city became a leading member of the Hanseatic League in the
13th century, when the town established Europe's first stock exchange. As we entered the historical Old
Town of Bruges, its medieval atmosphere was immediately evident.
Cobblestone streets twist and turn, and centuries-old buildings tower over the
main canals. You'll take a guided walk through the picturesque city,
passing Market Place with its merchant guild houses, the Belfry Tower, Town
Hall and Gothic-style Chapel of the Holy Blood.
We saw the beauty of medieval Bruges from a different perspective during
a 30-minute guided canal boat cruise.
We had some free time to browse independently in Bruges,
exploring at your leisure and having a great mussels lunch on my own. Finally,
the guide led us past the Lake of Love as we returned to the coach
for the drive back to the ship. I had
dinner with Dustin Kerr at Solice. I went to the show performed by the Shamrock Tenors.

08AUG26 Debark Ship Dover (London), England, UK. Dover is 102 miles from LHR and the drive
took an hour and 45 minutes. My 7:30
departure got me to the airport more than 3 hours befo.re my flight.

AUG AA 737 LHR-PHL 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Pleasant
flight arrived and landed on time.
